Telemarketer fined $180,000 for making 46 million spam calls

A California telemarketing firm has agreed to pay a $180,000 fine to settle charges with the Federal Trade Commission that it made 46 million illegal calls. The original fine was $3 million all but $180,000 will be suspended based on the defendants’ inability to pay.

U.S. Album Sales Fell 9.5% in 2007

Album sales in the United States plunged 9.5 percent last year from 2006, as the recording industry had another weak year despite a 45 percent surge in the sale of digital tracks, according to figures released Thursday.
